Twelve Days of Special Needs Kudos 2010 -Day Seven/Daniel Svoboda, Autism & Imagifriends

Daniel John Svoboda is a 24-year-old artist, whose whimsical artwork is helping create greater awareness of those with autism and other special needs, and he's my enthusiastic pick for Day Seven Kudos.

TWELVE DAYS OF SPECIAL NEEDS KUDOS 2010 -DANIEL JOHN SVOBODA & IMAGIFRIENDS:

Daniel John Svoboda's unique art was born of the pain of his own experiences being bullied as he grew up under the dual diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and psychomotor retardation.

The artist has since turned his childhood anger and pain into creating several charming and colorful designs of critters called Imagifriends that live in Imagiville, a place where everyone cares for one another. Daniel is now committed to using his art to help improve the lives of others with special needs, while educating the general public about his dual diagnosis, and the value and contributions of those with disabilities.

"Everyone is special just the way they are," Daniel says.

You can catch up on DJ's exciting success and see more of his whimsical creations (which I adore!) at: myimagiville.com.
